Hi,
Thanks for the new releases ! And the good work
.
However, the setting ‘Check for update’ enabled don’t work (2 last releases at least) on my pc (win11 25h2).
And Winget is not aware of appcontrol updating either.
Thanks again.
Ted
We’ve noticed Winget usually takes a while to update, sometimes weeks…
You can install AppControl manually if you go to www.appcontrol.com and just install the version over your current one. We purposely roll out the update a little at a time to everyone in case someone finds a bug, so we can stop the roll out and put out a fix if necessary. So far we haven’t ever had to do that… but we do it just in case something comes up in the forum or on Discord.
Thanks for your answer.
Ok, winget is not perfect nor almighty of course.
I use 4 other updating programs and none was aware of appcontrol updating.
Majorgeeks was, so i updated manually.
You want to be capable of reaction in case of problems. This is good for sure.
But in this case, what is the purpose of ‘Check for update’ option in settings ?
Greetings.
Check for update definitely does work, but, only if you are picked as the X% we are currently updating. Yes, we should probably consider allowing just anyone to update this way immediately when the update is available. Thanks for your feedback on that! Sorry for the issue and sorry for any confusion.
Just checked mine as well and it is on 1.3.0.335b . Checked on UniGetUI and winget calls it AppControl Setup not just AppControl 1.3 like the installed package. I originally installed manually from the website and just reinstalled it using UniGetUI. I guess I’ll see if it pops up again on the next update.
Yes, it was called appcontrol.appcontrol on Winget, but someone changed it. I am asking if they might change it back hopefully… I’m not sure why it happened.
