AppControl 1.3.0 brings a brand new command line tool to your terminal, plus graph zoom, new languages, and a bunch of improvements under the hood. Check it out and give feedback here.

This is a new update we released yesterday. Upgrade now and give us feedback!

Please note we have added German, Spanish, and Japanese too. Click the top right cog icon to switch languages.

Oh nice, there isn’t a conflict with VirtualBox any longer. At least with 7.2.4 r170995 anyway. Great to see!

Yes, we made a change that solved the issue along with some issues with Windows Sandbox and how certain processes were displayed.

The install fails, also when I uninstall the 1.2 before - so not a problem of the uninstaller. The installer fails right whenor after the step of creating the uninstaller exe in the app folder. Started as normal user, then got elevation prompt. Tried starting installer directly as admin - same issue. Then the installer just sits there waiting. Even when pressing Cancel, nothing happens, no roll-back, no resume install.

@Werner_Bauer sorry for the issue. What Windows OS version do you use and what hardware? Thanks.

@Werner_Bauer just following up on your OS version? Thanks!

OS is Win 11 Enterprise, 10.0.26200 Build 26200 on a Dell Latitude 7440, x64, Intel Core i7. The 1.2b installer works fine.

@Werner_Bauer It sounds like it might not work, but we have found this suggestion solves the problem for other people with your issue.

Please go to add/remove programs and uninstall AppControl if it’s installed. Don’t use a third party uninstaller.

Now reboot - IMPORTANT

Now please install our latest version again, did it solve it?

Did that, same exact issue. I tried with MSI-based logging flags to create an installer log, but the installer seems to be NSIS-based, so no logging.

OK, thank you. I will ask our team what they recommend next.

@Werner_Bauer please look for a private message from me here (top right).

I got the logs, thank you. We will try to figure out a solution. If someone else has this issue please report too!

We were able to find the issue, and the fix will be issued in our next major update probably this month. Thanks for your report.
