Feature request: Portable, no-admin mode

Hi there,

found this app as a great resource usage app over the time. I desperately need something to get some resource data on our corporate laptops that are barely usable due to like crapload of spyware. It would be totally awesome if there would be a portable mode that does not require an admin to run.

Yes, I know it may not show all the processes. Yes, I know that it will not have all the options to kill all processes and so on, but as long as it shows the same apps and same processes as native task manager shows to the user, it is absolutely fine.

I tried to copy it out, then uninstall it, and while the main app launches, it says that it cannot connect to the server, and the service requires an administrator.

I tried even things like force-run it as a user via BAT

cmd /c “set __COMPAT_LAYER=RUNASINVOKER && start “” “…file…”” but with no luck.

Thanks for your feedback. Some features we have won’t work in a portable mode (as you confirmed), but we’ll discuss making a portable version in the future if it’s possible to so.

I guess one thing we try to avoid is supporting multiple versions of the same app because we’re just a tiny team, so that’s kind of scary for us.
